I thought it would be fun to do a little discussion on the Holy Grail imagery in the Tarot of the Starbound Phantasia and a little commentary on the alchemical process of the Major Arcana in cards XI - XVII.

I've started a small print on demand store over at Spreadshop. For the time being, this is the best way for me to make prints available to the public. I'm starting out with the Major Arcana cards from the Ellis decK Tarot and will be adding the Starbound Phantasia's counterparts very soon. As for right now, I'm only offering 8"x12" prints, but if there is a specific card you would be interested in getting a print of, contact me directly and let me know which one it is.
Hi Friends!
Today, we've got a video comparing our two Magicians. Had a lot of fun making and editing this, and I'm looking forward to making more of these . Please let me know if there's a card you would like me to make a side by side of. Happy Reading! Taylor Eager to show off the new printing, I've gone and made another video - this time, we're cracking open the 6th edition Ellis decK and doing a reading about the deck itself. Lots of love to whoever on earth watched the first video, and I'm getting a little more comfortable with the medium, hoping to share more soon!
GET TO THE PRETTY PICTURE PARTY Thanks for reading Taylor For anyone that's been emailing asking how they can get a copy, I'm happy to tell you after some time out-of-print - there's a new edition of the Ellis decK Tarot available. This time we've got a whole mini companion booklet inside! Also some of the other items in the store are available again.
I'm in the process of setting up print on demand for people wanting art prints. With 78 cards in each deck, its a little hard to keep everything in stock! Stay tuned for more info! Thank you for reading! Taylor Hello again and Happy Halloween!
After not posting anything to Substack (I am not entirely sure I love the format, yet, but I do have some writing in limbo there) I decided to move forward with an idea I had for a youtube channel. I'm going to be playing around with what it's supposed to be, but I've uploaded a video today. Here's my channel. I don't expect any views, but you know - Gotta Start Somewhere Hello again!
I'm happy to tentatively announce we've been working hard to make the Ellis decK happen again. I'll reveal more in due time. For now, know that we've found a printer, done the layouts, and are excited to have the deck available again for those that have been asking. If you had emailed me asking when you can order the deck or if it still exists and I never got back to you, I'm very sorry. A whole lot of life has happened over the last few years and customer service on a deck I drew 10 years ago wasn't something I had any bandwidth for. If you've still been faithfully waiting, I'm super grateful. If you would rather tell me to buzz off, I understand. Once we get something we can post photos of, there will be much ado. Till then! Taylor First of all, if you clicked on this, and you are a person, thank you.
WHERE DID I GO? I made the personal decision to get rid of my Instagram. I had already deleted my Facebook a few years ago and I'm much happier. In a sea of bots, meanies, and parasocializing - sharing my life online in such a way just started feeling weird and bad. Figuring out what to do about showing my art is a work in progress and in the meantime, this blog may become something for those who are truly interested. The uphill battle of getting into everyone's algorithm is just not for me. WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING? Work. After the last major chunk of work on the albatross that is Zanbul, I burned out. I hung up the drawing tablet, went out, and found a job. I worked in customer service for a few years at an animal hospital, selling some tarot decks online here and there, while painting miniatures for fun. It's not the first, or maybe even the last time I've just stopped drawing to go do life. I've had a weird, unbalanced relationship with my creativity in the past, and I'm learning how to do it because I want to and not because it's my only chance at something something. Rest assured, I've felt the spark again and I WANT to draw. Doing it because I feel like I have to was a path to a dead end, and I'm so glad that's changed. AM I WORKING ON ANYTHING NOW? Yes. I am going to finish Zanbul. I'm not going to print any more incomplete editions. The next time it's available, it will be an big big book. It's not really a story that makes any sense until it's complete, and my attempts to put it out there as such were ill-fated at best. I don't really care if it's something that ever becomes a household name. It's too damned weird to be the next Spiderman. It's its own thing. Just know we're working to make sure it exists. WHY CAN'T I ORDER ANY MORE TAROT DECKS? I do not know what I am doing. At this moment in time, preordering the decks has become unsustainable. There are not enough interested parties at any given time for me to assemble an economically viable print order. This was my primary business model for years and I have not figured out what is next. They are not gone forever, but you're going to have to keep checking in. If you clicked on this, are a person, and are still reading, thank you again. This wasn't supposed to be an "oh poor me" type update. It's not an "oh poor me" update, it's just how things have been and things have been rough for everybody. Art/Social Media/The World in General has not been fantastic for my overall feels and art comes from feels. The plan is to stick with some Non-Toxic Safe-For-Consumption Positivity and see what happens. All the Best, Taylor |
TaylorIf I'm not drawing or trying to get people to look at my art, I'm probably reading Tarot, casting the I Ching, practicing some yoga, walking around aimlessly, or playing Final Fantasy XIV. Archives
